We keep these in stock and I run one on the VR6.
What info would you like?
Another interesting product...
The idea of the gasket is that it reduces heat exchange from the cylinder head to the intake manifold.
NewSouth Performance Gasket
I know the red devil has one, interested in any opinions on it.
Also after some info (I guess I'm asking JMac) about how complex it is to fit.

Courtney
Thats a good question.
Any relevant info or reviews for the 1.8T would be ideal, I'll have a look around.
Are you willing to post prices Courtney? Otherwise PM please.
Polo GTI engine is BJX model, Can you confirm if either small or large port versions are designed for out cars?

i PMed red devil before. it's the small port one.
what i'm more interested in is seeing real supporting numbers / data on the benefits of having this installed.
Agreed, thats what I'm looking for.
I think it would not offer much benefit on a dyno, but for stop-start driving, hopefully would help the cool air stay cool on its way into the engine.
I don't think this is a priority until the other heat / intake restrictions are dealt with, such as: TIP, Cone filter / Larger intake pipe, FMIC, etc.
A little info here (again, no numbers, just impression)
Intersting, figures not so sure but we will see when we run some Polos up here in April, Red devil is being run along with others. To be honest to the touch the manifold on the red devil felt the same as Shaneths who doesnt have one, i have a laser pointer which ill take to the dyno day.
If you fit one to the Pog you will have to delete the manifold support bracket or extend it if you have time.

Thanks Jmac, can you give an explanation as to how hard this would be for a DIY on the Polo? Is there room with the front bumper on?
Do you think there is possible issues with removing the support bracket?
Some people are reusing the stock screws / bolts, did you replace these?
Best info yet
I have one comming over from the states as we speek, should be here end of week or first of next, Yahoo. Ill let you know how easy/hard it is to install and any issues.
Cheers ssman
Red devil has had it on for over a year now with no dramas. You wont have any issues with the stock bolts, im sure they would supply them in the kit otherwise, treat as if you were fitting the inlet manifold gasket normally, only this one is a bit thicker, thats why you need to remove the brace.red devil hasnt had the brace on for well over a year, no worries. As for the write ups the guys on tex seem to have a lot of time on their hands to do so( lucky them).

Courtney pulled me out from the dungeon . I wont spill the beans but there will be a few big turbo VW/Audis on the street soon
The gasket , well , the theory behind it is quite simple . To reduce the effects of heat transfer from the alloy head to the alloy inlet manifold . This works similar to the intercooler in being a modification that cools the incoming air while the car is driving . You cant test its effects on a dyno or idling , you'll need to log intake air temps as the car is driving . The inlet manifold will radiate the heat from the engine , it was never designed to be a heatsink hence the requirement for airflow to pass over it . The Gasket prevents heat from being transferred to the inlet manifold while the car is in motion from the cylinder head . The faster you drive the colder your manifold will be ! We used these on the race cars and could quite comfortably put our hand on the inlet manifold when the car would enter the pits !
