A strut spreader is a useful tool for doing these. Much easier than try to prise open the hub to get the strut out.
I forget the size of the spline drive that is used for the clamp bolt, M14 possibly? I used to use a pair of vice grips to hold the bolt while undoing the nut.
Also the drivers side sturt needs compressing a great deal to clear the hub. Made worse by the driveshaft.
