Hi guys,
Just a quickie, I'm looking for an induction kit for the polo, which onedo you guys recommend/use?
I've been told by one of the lads I drink with a K&N typhoon is the mutts.
Thanks for your advice/tips
Cheers
Steve

There are induction kits, but quite expensive from memory. There are quite a few DIY cone filter installs with varying results. Have a search, few threads dedicated to this idea.
From my reading (feel free to correct me) the cone filter installs don't seem to deliver any more power, but can make the induction noise louder.
The Turbo Inlet Pipe (TIP) is also required as well as the cone filter for improved breathing.
Many people have had success with the Seat 160 intake upgrade and aftermarket filter (myself included).
If you don't have your car chipped, its not really required.
K&N Apollo + Forge TIP is the best price/performance combo, plus you get the added bonus of induction noise.
While the SEAT intake can produce similar results, once you factor in the $200 for the intake, plus the ~$100 for the filter you're better off with the K&N Apollo.
To save space, I just ran the intake pipe to the standard intake location, and zip tied it on. That said, if you intend on doing this then make sure you remove the chunk of plastic in the intake area to help improve flow.
Previous Rides: Polo GTI, Mx5 10AE, MY05 WRX WRP10, Renault Sport Clio 172
Current Ride: Evo 8 MR, Fabia MK3
I currently have the seat intake installed and it's made such a difference in helping the engine breath a bit better. But I suspect a heat should would be also be beneficial if you head towards the cone filter option.
