    Indicator function

Am I missing an obvious way to cancel indicating before the automatic three flashes finish?

Every now and again I'll indicate say left, which initiates the (apparently minimum) three flashes of the indicators, and then need to cancel it (maybe someone's just appeared there out of nowhere).

The only thing I can get to happen is three flashes to the opposite side, no simple 'stop indicating left'...

    Am I missing something?

Standard mate if you lane hopping all you need to do is flick it and you will have 3 or 4 blinks with no need to cancel

Yes, but the issue is that once you give it a flick, you can't cancel it without indicating three or four times the other way - or is there a way?

I don't think there is a way to stop it (certaintly not that I have worked out).

But I remember the dealer saying it was one of the functions that can be disabled (someone else can confirm or otherwise this info).
I have my RED , 3DR MKV GTI with leather in manual and I love it!

If you hold the indicator stalk in one direction for i think about 1 click then it will only stay on for as long as you're holding it so you can get a minimum 1 click. Not sure if you can do something with this to get it to cancel early or not.

yeah thats the comfort indicators or whatever they call it. I disabled it quick smart cos it kept on indicating the opposite direction when i cancelled the indicator manually. That was in my new golf gti though. u probly have to take it back to the dealer to get it cancelled unless the polo has a similar feature where u can adjust settings yourself.

Ah good to know this can be disabled. I find it quite annoying as that 1 courtesy blink which I intend to give is very different from the 3 that I get which can mean {to other drivers} that yeah I'm going to turn left up there, where in fact I just changed lanes for a wee bit.

I wouldn't lose sleep over it... what's the worst thing that can happen? You're about to change lanes, someone appears... the 3 flashes go by.

I didn't know that our little 2001 Polo had this function, so that was great info for me.

I still have to get around to reading the manual.

worst thing that can happen is u drive past a left hand turn with your blinker indicating that youre going to take that turn and then someone pulls out in front of you as you drive straight.

Thats why i couldnt live with this feature in my golf. Its just plain dangerous in my book!
