I don't cancel flashes that often but I remember you can cancel the auto flashes by simply flicking the stalk to the on position (to the direction you originally flashed) then immediately back to the off position.

Thats why i couldnt live with this feature in my golf. Its just plain dangerous in my book!
Tim I believe he was talking about changing lanes... so to do that you'd be in the right lane yes? You're a goose if you change from a right to left lane while approaching a side street IMO. Who turns left from the right lane anyway???

Hows about when youre driving along in the left hand lane. Indicate to the right lane cos someone has stopped in front of you. But then they move and you want to cancel it. When you do your left indicator flashes 3 times. Its just silly.

There is no 'cancel' so rather than indicating left, which we agree would be dangerous, let it flash 3 times to the right. Like I said, not worth losing sleep over.

You must be flat out today

Noone's gonna pull out of a side street because your indicating. No-one trusts indicating, i sure as hell don't.

If i'm pulling out of a side street and someone is indicating... i'll prepare myself, but i won't move until i'm sure they are turning... ie.. slowing down... i can't believe the population is that stupid they would take indication for gospel... and if they did... then they are probably dead already, cause alot of ppl don't know how to indicator properly.

Take roundabout for instance... the number of ppl that indicate incorrectly is mind boggling, can you imagine the number of accidents if ppl believed what they saw?

you might not. But what about all those morons youre talking about at the round abouts? do u trust them not to? I just used that as an example anyways.

Well I'm using the indicator a lot less in the Polo than in my Euro. The 3x feature is the main reason. Will get it disabled at next convenient time.

No i don't... thats my point... indicators to me merely are a way to prepare myself to act... if i believed them i would get into many an accident. But i pretend they are going to do what they say they are going to do, and saves me some time. I'm assuming no-one would ever believe and indicator fully, just like me... so therefore the arugment about it causing accidents imo is incorrect.
