Improve your gear shift (parts fitted today)

Shift Bracket Bushings - Verdict Motorsports

Only $20 US including shipping, had these fitted today. The gear slots into place with more precision. My car has slight notchy feel from 1st to 2nd, and this has improved on top of APR dogbone upgrade.

All other gears also go in like HH <--- slotted gated shifts.

Definitely worth $20US! Especially for you Aussies, it will be pretty much equivalent to your dollars.

Got my mechanic to fit it for me this morning. My 3" down pipe was also hitting on bracket slightly, so this was remedied. CV boot replaced.
I opted for the the aluminium ones as they were cheaper.

was the shifting still notchy after your APR dogbone upgrade, hence why you got the brackets too?
i was intending on getting the APR Engine mount, but if this fixes the job ill be more than happy to go for this cheap option.

I haven't upgraded with the new bearings only (without APR mount), so I cannot say for sure.
Mind you, they all had its additive effect.

If I were you, I would start with these bearings first. The notchiness has definitely improved more after these bearings were put on.

The reason why I said to go with these bearings are:
    1) If you use Airconditioning a lot - you can feel extra vibration at idle - this can be remedied by increasing the idle to around 900.
    2) Cheaper to try, and won't go a miss.

The current bushings were actually in near new condition, I brought them home with me. The difference is that those bushings were mushy rubber vs. aluminium.

I'm a bit lost when it comes to the gearbox.

If the OEM are rubber, is there not more load transferred somewhere else?

How easy is this to do (or I guess, how long did it take your mechanic)?

I'd go for the dogbone as well Robihe, the engine movement with the chip is not desirable, this could be a good addition.

Sorry I must have confused you... well my post did sound a little confusing.
I would go with 1) gear bushings first then 2) APR mount.

I do not believe it carries extra vibration. It's more to do with linkages of the gearbox.
APR definitely worsened the vibration of the car especially with the airconditioning on.

    golfman good luck!

is this true? the bushes are not dersirable with the engine chips? might sound silly, but is there any risk of interfering with other mods, should i install it after or before i modify the car.

    Sorry mate, misconstrued.

What I mean is that the dogbone helps minimize the engine movement so it helps more than just the gearbox.

I don't know much about this, but its not something I'd be game to do myself.

Any idea how much labor is involved?
