How to remove interior trim to put more Dynamatt in the Polo?

Hi Guys

I dynamatted most of the Polo interior floor and boot floor. Then stopped. I have enough to continue doing more needy zones and have seen feed back from a couple of Polo owners (VWthunder?) on here that most of the noise comes from the wheel wells?

Not sure about the doors and benefit in doing them? Or how to safely remove them?

So I need to remove the side trim but need a DIY guide and pictures etc would be great along with a PDF of the workshop section for interior trim removal section would be great? Am I asking too much here?

I do not want to break anything and would appreciate anyones assistance.

Omgoodness I just came inside from ripping all those panels off and putting them back in!
If I would've seen this I would have taken photos for you.

Pull out the little push tab button at the bottom.
Then pick a corner and start to pull the panel away firmly. Use your other hand further up the panel pulling as well to help it come away.
Just move around the panel lifting it off.
From your pic, there's two clips on the right, two clips along the top and a clip in the left hand corner near that tab. There's also a lip underneath the panel that joins the C-pillar trim.
Chances are you'll end up with some of the trim clips still stuck in the body or clipped up in the panel.
I took about 10mins trying to figure out how these bastards work as they're bloody tight to get them to unclip properly. I broke the legs off one to discover but once I had it figured they all pop out.

If you look at a clip, legs on one side, round bit on the other, you need to get a lever in between the main body of the clip and the thin round plastic. I used my trim removal tools which have a tapered V-shaped groove. I hold the tool with the clip sitting in the groove and use a thumb on either side to push down while holding the tool. The taper and V-groove do the separating work. I had to do this a few times and never busted one after I figured it out.

Then just reverse to re-install.

Inside there's a nice plastic cover that fills the hole in the panel around the speaker which has about 10 T25? torx screws as well.
Honestly the hardest part of it is getting the little clips to come back open.

This should give you an indication of where the clips at the back, life saver these pics for the 2nd time ya pull it out, the bojo tools above are also a life saver.
