on the inside, using the offset calculator, it says the fronts will have 12mm MORE clearance and the rears will have 2mm LESS. I'm pretty confident that 2mm less clearance will not cause scrubbing.

Are you using spacers on the front? Cuz when I plug in the numbers for the front wheel it says it gives you 5mm more on the inside and extends 32mm on the outside which is a fair bit. That may scrub on the wheel arches on full lock. Should look pretty wicked 'n fat thats for sure!

what offset are you using for standard in the calculation? i have a late '06 model which has an offset of +43....give it another go.

Well going with the figures from your post on pg 4; stock is 6.5" and ET43right? And you said you had 7.5" and with 25ET. According to that it says it gives you 5mm more inside space and extends 32mm on the outside. Not having a go at you, just interested in the calculation thats all.
The rears I got the same figures as you though.

nah i know you are not having a go. i thought the stocko rims were 7" wide, thats what i've been running my calcs off

when i get them on i'll see if there is any scrubbing. i'm hoping not.

keep in mind the tyres will be stretched.

yeah the stock rims a weeny 6.5" wide. Thats why if you look at the 205's on them you can actually see they can be stretched at least another 5mm on either side because they sorta have a lip of unused rubber. That's why 7" is the minimum recommend rim for a 205, 7.5" is probably ideal and 8" is a little stretched although still very much doable. 9" inch is doable but looks a little odd if you ask me.

I've got aftermarket 17x7's on so I've never really looked into the specs of the stocko's, I bought the car with the wheels it currently has on it.

I have recently replaced the wheels with RS4 replicas. 17 x 7.5 with 205/40/17. It's ET 38. Look spot on in terms of width. I was comtemplating with ET 35, but really happy with ET38.

Will try to post up photos
    06 Polo GTI - REVO Stage 2 = 140kw @ wheels.
06 Golf GTI - Bluefin Stage 1 blacked out with ED30 theme, leather, xenon, etc.

Just a query; what is "staggered fitment" in regards to the type of wheel?
