i See VL's do this all the time, must be fine, Hacksaw =)
Hey guys,
I took my adjuster cup things out last week before Day of the Volkswagen for 'moar lowz' and it made heaps of difference - but it's still not low enough - I've got another 50mm (approx) before the guard hits the wheel - my tyres got enough legal stretch to fit nicely behind the guard without rubbing.
I'm on KW V1's - does anyone know of any springs that are shorter that I could swap into the back?
Front's are fine - I've still got a few more mms I can lower it more if I want to. I just want a better solution than putting heavy things in the boot to lower it down more haha.
First world problems I know - but I need to be lower than BFLAT for the next show![]()

I've seen advertisments in PVW and Golf+ for KW Ultra low Coilies:
Product news - KW automotive GmbH
This may be your solution? Not sure if they do a set for the 9N3 Polo though... might be easier for you to source through the UK from your family connections.

KW Lows are quite pricey from memory.
Have you cut down the rear bump stops? Mine dropped a little more after that. I'd say I have 2 inches from the arch to my rim.
I'll give that a crack soon - alternatively I'll through a few bricks in the spare wheel well before a show and pretend I roll that low daily
I wonder if I could order just the rear springs out of the KW Low kit though - surely I could - but maybe a little pricey - I'll make some calls and Ryan I will be lower than you next year!

Hey guys, a fella in the UK went to GAZ suspension company for custom shorter rear springs and new adjusters for the rear.
Check out www.uk-polo.net for the details. It's on page 44 of the epic build thread by 9N3 Turbo call Black Polo GTI 6 Speed 320hp![]()
I can think of 3 options how to make the rear lower:
1. cut the bumstops in half
2. get shorter springs; from what I hear, the ones from VW Fox are a straight fit
3. buy rear spring rubbers from a Cupra and 4wd TT!
- here's the part number (the price here in Croatia is about 13 AUD):
1J0 512 149 B (make sure that you get the ones with the letter B at the end)
- on this pic you can see the difference from the standard ones (sorry for the huge pic):
p.s. if you guys can't see the pic let me know!

+1 for trimming the bump stops. It gives you a bit more lows...
I had fixed my scrubbing issues and then I cut the bumpstops down and it scrubs again now with the extra lows and more suspension travel. It's more comfortable daily driving though. I'll take a pic of my guard clearance tomorrow.
Definitely worth doing.
I'm tucking 215's, rubs over speed bumps taken at speed, normal driving its fine.
