Get the black euros, they set the car off IMO, especially if the car is black! Here is some pics to decide whether it suits you or not (sorry they are not very good quality). The only thing I don't like is that the front ones are smaller than the back ones - if you get white the front ones are the same as the back.

Also, as much as I loved the feeling of rocking up in a taxi to the dealer and driving off in my brand new car, I would get your dad to pick it up. Otherwise they may let people take it for test drives, etc.

And $26,990 drive away is a great deal - well done. Don't know about the mechanics of your contract, but if the protection is inbuilt into the contract (i.e. you must get it to get your car at that price) you may have a problem. If it was not part of your original contract then you should be sweet. IMO $2k is a massive ripoff for that protection. Just polish/wax and condition the leather regularly and you wont have a problem!

    very imprtant bec!!!

best way to look after is: give it to me!! 43 yrs driving over
    200 vws i owned
$180 tinting when u come to Bris...my sons mate! sth Bris perfect job.

    Dealers are so unscrupulous.
I bought my car @ 61,000 kms and they made a paint and fabric and underbody offer - much like yours

they did NOT tell me it had all been done 3 yrs ago when new.

neither did they have the book EVER stamped.
My mate is on the warranty side of the Importers. told me the car was on 5 yrs extended warranty. he just typed in VIN nr!!

Dealerships also like to charge a lot for services!!
find a good accredited workshop and u keep warranty and $$$
    enjoy!
    see u in Bris.

    Hi Bec

From previous experiance with a number of turbo cars I would advise you to let the engine cool down after freeway or heavy load driving (ie. full car, steep hills, fanging it etc.). You do this by letting the engine idle for about 30 seconds or so before switching it off. Turbos can fail early if the transition from hot to cold and vice versa, is too quick.

I havent personally had any experience with a Polo Gti but the same principals apply.

Im shore you would have seen cars still running as the driver walks away and the car turns off by it's self after a short time. Those people have turbo timers for the reason I mentioned above.

Congrats on your purchase, Bec ... and welcome to the forum. The lil' Pogo is a great car (wouldn't swap mine for anything ... even after nearly 2 years).

sounds like an awsome car congrats...

just one reason why i didnt get euro plates for myself: the back plate is bigger than normal plates and cops can see it easier

gonna hit up a sydney cruise in it?

In regards to tinting, Tint-A-Car quoted me $295 for their 'Ash Cool' tint. Haven't done it yet as I'm not sure I trust them...

Around the 350+ mark is about right for tint.

Dealer tint is always a little more expensive.

I know with our inhouse tinting its lifetime warranty, 3m film. They are constantly being trained by all the different brand of cars we have (bmw, mini, vw, suzuki, mitsu, honda, ford, dodge, hyundai etc etc etc) to make sure they are correctly removing and replacing all door trims. Also use the latest 3M films. All the tinters go to demonstrations whenever new films are released and any training sessions.

Also best thing about dealer tint is that any problems with door trim refitting or tint, you bring it back to us. No running around
I had this problem with ALTAPAC on my previous car. they SCREWED up my door trim. Since it wasnt the dealers doing, i wouldnt expect them to fix it. It took 3 trips back to ALTAPAC to get it sorted. Even then it was never right again. Few clips in each door trim were snapped.

our dealer tint is $495 which is very reasonable.
    695 seems a little crazy.

Even when its 495 though.... haggle a bit never know, you might be able to get it down to as low as 400.

^ Thats exactly why I'm hesitating getting it done elsewhere.

    My local dealer quotes $595
