    Thanks Gavin,

Yeah that's what I thought! And they quoted 4-5 for the clutch.

I guess that's 30 min per side when starting from scratch? ie not with the subframe already off and easily accessible?

I don't know what to do, these guys want more than double what it should be.

I dont get it , Ive never had to pull a subframe off a fwd VW to do a clutch , Im still trying to work out why they even touched the tie rod ends !

I do pull the subframe off when I do the seat bushes as I like the check the sway bar bushes and front control arm bushes on the Polo gti's as well , they dont break like the back ones but they do wear out and start to creak over time . Oh , and I like to wash the control arms and subframe when I have it off too , but thats just me being pedantic ....

Yep i dont need the subframe out especially in a Polo, its easier than a Mk4 as it doesnt have the power steering pipes in the way, MK4 i tend to remove it as its easier one man but Polo no way. I only remove the alloy consoles to do the seat bushes, would love to see how Gav puts a solid Seat bush in the alloy housing in 30 mins per side. So thats wishbone out push out rubbish bush and fit solid seatbush, push wishbone back into the bush, torque it all up properly in 30 mins, better man than me

Ok, I've finally managed to argue with the dealership over the hours charged and they've brought it down from 15 hours to 6.3 hours. The quote was 4-5 max.

Hopefully you guys can see these photos of the clutch plate, pressure plate and flywheel - the pictures speak for themselves:

Will just clarify here that the bushes that took 30 mins to install were in fact not SEAT solid bushes. Havent seen the pics yet of the clutch will check that out for sure, but had to clarify the bush thing as i fit many and know for a fact you cant fit them in time. Sorry to change the topic but the bushes were mentioned.
    Cheers
