help needed with rear disk install

I have installed the front disks on my polo without any hassles.
I am stuck witht the rear calipers. I can't compress the caliper.
I have removed the handbrake cable, removed the caliper but cant compress it.
Any clues to what I am missing here.

They wind in, with a windback tool or a suitable pair of pliers maybe.
