Help - HEL braided line install

To those that have installed the HEL lines before:

I'm having a bit of trouble installing the 9N3 specific kit made by HEL. The stock brake lines have a female connector which bolts onto the hard line and sits inside a little bracket and is held by a clip.

The line in the kit which was sent to me has a 'sliding' connection (don't know how else to put it) and doesn't seem to want to fit into the OEM bracket, making it hard to bolt up. Have I been sent the wrong kit or am I missing something here? The stock lines have a fixed fitting on the end.

I took the little metal brackets out and squashed them lol, dont know if it the right thing to do

After i did it, i saw somewhere that they might be able to thread the line through, so that the bit that wont fit, sits on top, if that makes sence
