Hey folks, I'm new here! A blue 2006 polo gti , bought 2nd hand with 22kkms on the clock, leather and sunroof - see interior pic below. Black would have been my preferred colour, but the blue is very nice as well. So if you see one with LFS (Live For Speed) and www.carbonneutral.com.au stickers wave hello
I fill it up every Tuesday with about 1/3rd left in the tank. Travelling from around Pascoe Vale road on the Citylink in Melbourne to Richmond with a bit of slow traffic on either end (and during...) I'll get 7.8-8.5 litres on the run in, depending on traffic, whereas using normal roads only on way home nets me around 9-9.5 litres. It only goes down at last third where I typically get little traffic, typically see around 11.5 until that time - and a lot higher for the first few kays.
Driving style is "smart spirited" i.e. a combo of leadfoot and being mindful of traffic patterns ahead, coasting to a red light etc.
Makes you think about how much better a hybrid car really is in the city. If the Civic had have ESP, I would have gotten the Civic hybrid instead. Really coming to love the polo so glad I didn't
(Have offset emissions by way of 29 trees.)
