    600 kms

I only get a couple hundred kms out of mine

but i only drive it on weekends, and i dont drive it particularly hard either (sometimes)

oh well must just be my driving style which makes it use alot of fuel.

    DAMMM you guys..

How the hell do you get those numbers out of a tank.

The most I can remember I have ever got out of a tank , and that's almost running it to empty, was like 520ks.
But on almost every other occasion, I fill her up when the light comes on, and that at 350-380ish ks..

My fuel con is approx. 10ish, I can't drive it easy, but at the same time I don't drive it that hard all the time.
    Please define HARD??

As my definition my be a little different to most of you.

As mentioned on this forum before - the 1.8T tends to drink a fair bit of fuel when cold (10+L/100km), and quite little when on the freeway (6-6.5L/100km).

If you do lots of shortish trips in the city, your consumption in the GTI is going to be a LOT higher than someone who commutes 30km on the freeway to work every day.

I suspect this might at least partially explain the big numbers some people get, but not others. If your car is a low km example (ie not run in, or barely run in), also expect higher numbers.

My average consumption has only recently dropped below 10L/100km (by the trip computer). It's dropping quite quickly though - i suspect it'll end up somewhere in the high 8s/low 9s, reflecting the mainly city-based driving I do.

My consumption has been an average of 8.5L/100km everytime I fill up.

I am averaging about 450 - 480kms. That's with everyday in and out of the city and light weekend work. If i trash some, i'm probably closer to 400kms.

    NO WAYYY !!!

If I seen anything over 380 when the light turns on I'm STOKED !!!!.

I drive my car everyday to and from work and visiting customers around most of Sydney,so most of the driving is city..

I can't understand why the Consumption is over 10 almost all the time .....
like I said earlier, yes I do have a heavy foot, but I would have to say that it's less than 50% of the time that I do drive it hard, and when I say hard I mean a few big hits, but mainly short sqirts...

Surely this cannot contribute to such a high consumption, but funny enough, I have found that if I do drive it a little harder all the time every-time, the consump has been around the hight 8's/9's....

    GO FIGUER!!!!.

Ohhh by the way my GTI is almost 9-months old with just over 10,000k's on the clock..

I think the explanation is that the fabled learning ECU, among other variables, establishes a long-term fuel trim, and I suspect this trim is different for leadfoots and lightfoots. My long term average consumption is 9.1L/100k

hahaha well don't feel too bad, I do 120km a day on the freeway and only get it down to 6.9L/100km. If I get a tail wind it goes down to 5.9L/100km.... wish I had a tail wind everyday.

    Mind you, If:

    a. Its a hot day
    b. The highway goes over a lot of hills
    c. The air-con is on
    d. Driving into the wind

I get 11L/100km on the freeway
