Oh yeah !! Actually, near $3250...a lot of $$$ as you said and there is more to come coz i intend to go ahead with Stage 2 & 3 before the end of the year or early next year.
But I can assure you, I am not a rich heir !!!
It's just that i spent more than one year to prepare my project and save money for it.
And I'll start to miss some money at the moment...lol !
This forum was for me a really good ressource to learn all i needed.
About the pipe, i think it's just a "noise pipe" which enhances the turbo sound inside the car. There are no sensors on it and I asked to Alex one month ago and he confirmed that.
Anyway, i have to remove it if i want to put my Forge Strut Brace.
Actually, i can't fit it as the pipe is in the way to go.
I think i should get a bit better turbo response but i have to fit the Forge I/C pipe first to put the FSB.

I really know that as i'm facing the same thing here in NC !
Fitting the TIP is a really painfull task especially if you don't have the good tools but all i can say is that if i did it, you can do it !!
You need tools, time, patience and some "persuasion power" (lol !) like Blitzen talks about here.
The thread above was for me a huge help !
If you want, i can do a full DIY to go ahead with it but you've already have almost everything in this thread and in mine.
Don't hesitate to ask questions mate and i can help you & T Go....
Cheers,
Florian

Yer seems a bit silly... I can hear my turbo spooling inside the car anyway..??
On second thought it could be doing exactly the opposite - It could actually act as a noise supperssor if calibrated correctly.. In theory, it could create a harmonic that is 180deg out of phase with the induction noise thus cancelling it completely out. This would make the cabin quieter.
BMW have similar electronic generators on their exhaust systems to lessen NVH levels
