Smile GTI polo going for 26,990...How much did you actually paid for yours?

    Hi there!!!
I think this is my first post.......
I'm really interested in getting a polo gti but the thing is is that i only have 22k cash on me (can stretch my wallter to 25k if i really need to). I'm just wandering how or where did you guys get your polo gti's and if it was new or used, did you haggle with them or recieved any extra opts on them? or did you get any good drive-away deals. (plus, if new did you opt on metallic paint?)
    Please share us your experiences!!!

    Hey nghia1.

I know what you mean matey. Yeah it's a real shame with the driveaway sales. I'm just hoping that there will be some sales or room for negotiation further down the track. From what I've seen of the used ones, the difference is a few K, but I'd probably push the dosh to go for a new one.

Paid just over 31k before trade in drive away sales. I have black (metallic paint), leather and 17s.

    Well worth it.

29.5k for candy white + leather, no trade in. None of the dealerships I spoke to (several around the sydney area) were really interested in haggling.

I find it amazing that they still sell for $30K new

I bought my first one in Feb 2006, 2 years ago(wow). Black + Leather for $31,600. It was still $29,990 + on roads back then too. Now its $27,990 + on roads. I wouldn't be paying anymore then $29,500.

OP: I wouldn't go over budget. You can get good example second hand. I sold my first one in Oct 07 for $23,500 black, leather, 16,000kms & chipped.

Flaps, it has come down... I paid $31,392 for Black + Leather + VW 17" wheels. That's cheaper than yours with wheels that cost about $3k with tyres.

I know because its $2000 cheaper before on road costs.

I'm saying I expected better discounts now the GTI has been out for 2 years and the car is still the same from when it was released.

Did you get the original 16s and tyres as well?

i thought it is 26,990 + onroads from memory when i bought mine in december.

I got mine stock - no options except (i personally love the tartan and hate having a sunroof) for metallic silver paint for 28k. I would have liked to bargain him down more but considering he started at 31.5k, my goal was 27.5k but the price we ended up getting was near enough..
