no but my bro was... and he got our Polos @ cost... so I can only laugh when people post BS prices in this thread.
Add: I'd assume not all ex-staff would be privvy to such deals either...

no not at all ex staff usually dont get deals!
Yeah i have some great stories of people comming in off forums expecting tens of thousands off cars!
Got mine last week for 22k 2006 model Navy Blue Stock.
i don't understand
why would someone lie about the price they bought their car for?
People have said that my price is unbelievable because it was cheaper than what they got theirs for
i know i'm not making up figures and i can't even see why people would bother to make them up? what does that achieve?
dealers can still make sh*t loads off extras (like paint protection etc.), finance and interval services. so selling a car slightly below cost can still be profitable
got mine 26800 including ipod adaptor.
I really don't get why someone would lie either. We are actually here for the sole purpose of exchanging information and experience in order to learn what otherwise would be a lot harder to learn. If there is no trust between forum members then it totally defeats the point. We are here with a common interest and different levels of experience so instead of saying things are impossible I guess it would be a lot more interesting to find out how it was possible.
PS. I've been offered really good offers during my hunt for my polo. And lots of the offers ive seen posted make a lot of sense. Most of the genunine offers that i got were between $200-$700 lower than the MRRP for the level of options selected in the car.
just remember that the salesman needs to make a commission on the car, then the aftermarket person makes a commission on tint, roof etc... the salesman isn't going to do the leg work for a ****ty retainer and let the aftermarket person make all the coin.
this man speaks the truth
sometimes volkswagen has campaigns which will result in a cheaper car (as volkswagen offers a rebate to the dealer), but unless something like that is going on, theres probably not a heap of room to move unless the exact car you want is the exact car they've got and need to move off the lot
fwiw im not a dealer, just a leasing company so i buy vdubs regularly for my customers (and thus got looked after with my pogo )
It's been said before, but it needs saying again. SHOP AROUND!
I was almost sold on an 07 GTI ex-demo, sunroof and cloth for $28,500 -- With a bit of ringing around, I settled on a 08 build GTI, still coming in on a boat new, sunroof and cloth and black metallic paint for only $500 more. I couldn't be happier.
This is my first VW, well, first not Japanese car for that matter. So forgive me if it sounds like a silly question but why do some people here refer to their Polos as Pogos, Pogs or Poggies? The only thing I can think of is that they're using the G from GTI and instead of saying Polo GTI, they say Pogo. Whereas just saying Polo could mean a non GTI? Or maybe I'm over thinking it and it's just a cute way of saying Polo.
