Hey guys, A VW mechanic told me the other day that the polo engine is actually designed to produce 175kw? which was on the old Audi tt motor? if this is true then i guess .....hmmmmm have you guys heard of this before?
Which is what mine is at the flywheel. Wouldn't take too much more to get it to 175kw.

yes it is mostly the same as the old TT engine but doesn't the TT have the K04 turbo?? we only have the K03.
2010 Reflex Silver MK6 Golf GTI
Sunroof - MDI - Superchip - 19" VMR V710 - Kuhmo Ecsta SPT KU31 - VW Racing Panel Filter
its actually designed to produce 132kw cos its the exact same motor as the old 132kw golf 4 gti motor but its detuned at the factory to produce the 110kw we get
the seat Ibiza cupra has a few mods and a better intercooler but more or less the same engine and turbo and it gets the full 132kw at the factory
guys yes they're essentially the same engine but theres a variety of manufacturing techniques for the various versions of the 20vt so they're not really exactly the same along with some being built for more power, bigger valves and cams etc.

Mischa is exactly right ... with the right hardware & software ... your Polo could also be pumping out those sorts of figures. If you plan to go that far though ... don't forget brakes, suspension, clutch, etc. Expensive to get it that far.

My reading of various internet sources was the Audi TT motor had bigger injectors too.
But from what I have read the internals are the same, but things like software, injectors, turbos can change.
The guts of most 20Valve motors are pretty similar. Earlier motors like the AEB and AGU have bigger little ends but most seem to be able to handle 300hp and 300lbs of torque before they start letting go.
The rods are the weakest link.
