Goodbye MY09 Polo GTi hello MY19.5 MK7.5 Golf R Wagon

As the title says Goodbye MY09 Polo GTi hello MY19.5 Golf R Wagon.

Nine years ago we purchased the Polo Gti and it has been a great little car. We got used to the push in the back and the handling prowess, stopping power.

Drove a Skoda VRS with the same engine and 7 speed DSG as the Golf Gti and it was humbling how the Polo stood tall.

I have to honest the MK7.5 R Wagon did not wow me on power alone. But on comfort and technology there is not much that comes close.

So with the Perfomance Range Clearance and Drive Away Prices there are some very impressive deals to be torturously, like pulling teeth, to be had. Anyone seriously in the market PM as I can refer you to a great demo R Wagon or Hatch deals if there not sold already.

So God Willing we drive the Polo GTi to the delearship on 31st July 2019 and drive away in a Pure White MK7.5 MY19.5 R Wagon with all options, there are only two, including VW 5 year Service Care Plan and Peformance Accessesories as long as your arm. Oh but do not ask for a tow bar, no can do!

I am sure there are aftermarket compatable tow bar kits available but Towbar Australia think that the R has no tow rating. If so then ADR legalities make it illegal to fit it. I am sure there are MK7.5 Golf forum threads on it.

Thanks to all on here for the support and advice, assistance especially Gav HW100 who even from Melbourne still goes out of his way to help.

Farewell and not goodbye I will be over at the MK7.5 Golf R forum, look for Call Me Al.

Congratulations! Picked up the R today?

Welcome to the R Wagon club. It is a great car. Only 3K on mine in 6 months (mainly ride a motorbike), but love driving it!
