Sorry if I created some confusion. Since I know nothing about this kit, I searched iit in google and came up with this:

    K04-001 Turbo Upgrade Kit, Transverse 1.8T - 034 MOTORSPORT
Kinetic Motorsport: BORG WARNER K04-001 TURBOCHARGER

After reviewing APR's site, it appears that if you supply the parts, then you:

    a. Have APR install it or your mechanic (add labour costs)
    b. Software will be $750.00 for 2 programs for existing APR customers who are supplying parts (i.e K04-001 BORG WARNER)

If I'm right, I would say the following costs are broken down as is:
    1. Borg Warner Kit: USD 1,195 (~AUD 1,275)
    2. Shipping $150.00 est.
    3. Customs tax, check this yourself but if its based on 10% then it would be ~$150

Total cost would be just over $1,500 plus labour on top.

Correct me if I'm wrong or missing alot here?

Yeah from APR Aus, its $3000 plus install but if you supply the parts yourself, the tune is $750. You can get hte parts from ecstuning.com or kineticmotorsport.com and the Borg Warner KO4-001 or KKK turbo is around $895 to $1200 or so including the install parts depending on where you get it from. Seems to me that they all share the same part number on the APR websites (just not 100% sure if the one used for the polo is the same used elsewhere but judging by the pics, they are either BG or KKK). Does anybody know or have gone down this route and am sure these kits fit? If so, I'm definatey getting one myself. ALso, will only require APR tune and 4 bar fuel pressure regulator if using APR tune.

Usually with these 1.8T upgrade kits, they don't include manifold or exhaust. Neither does APR in Aust. for the $3000 upgrade. Not sure if the manifold with the 034 kit would be an exact fit or would require some modding etc.

This kit makes solid gains in both horsepower and torque. With no other mods than an APR Turbo-Back Exhaust, the kit made 180kw/388Nm on 98 RON fuel. Although the exhaust is not required, it is highly recommended.

APR - High Performance Development for Audi, VW and Porsche Vehicles.

    Loving that lol.

But isn't that assuming its retuned with the appropriate APR software?

    Damn GBP 68.00 ..

Wont get the intercooler until summer hits, saving my pennies for an exhaust now.

Checked my email from APR USA and technical support confirmed its a Borg Warner OEM turbo used and not a hybrid typ used in their 1.8T transverse mount turbo upgrade kits. So assuming the same parts are used for both the USA and AUS kits (as due to the same part numbers used by APR), then its the BG KO4-001 turbo? Please correct if I'm wrong? Getting excited now.

I'm would probably say so considering that was from the APR website.
