    golf mkiv wheels

im sure you guys have seen these wheels everywhere before, on the mk4 golf 2.0 generation/ sport models.

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....m=130274735177

whaddya reckon they would look like on a polo 4dr? i know many will say they are too small, but i prefer smallish wheels to say 17's or 18's, and i reckon these would look alright once my car has suspension done, in that they'd look somewhat 'sporty', allowing me to put better rubber on, whilst still looking very much VW stock.

anyone ever seen a polo with these on before? did they look good or not?

You want to go down in size? They're 15s ... they'll look very small in the Polo wheel arches.

i dont have a gti. i've got a tdi. so slightly bigger than the standard hubcap/ steel wheel setup.

im also thinking of the early mk4 gti wheels, like this one:

no no, no ignorance on your part- im probably one of the very few pog drivers on this site who doesnt drive a gti (pd, golfman, polo spec d are the only others i know who drive tdi's, i think).

yeh after having 17's on my Polo, they look HUGE.

ive bought 15's for my Polo and i think it will be more than enough, when i put my 14" stockies back on it (after the 17"), it felt so much quicker and livelier also the steering was nicer etc

they'd look alright, paint them a dark grey and it would look tough!

hey guys, thanks for the input!!!!!

sorry to make this thread obsolete already- i went out and got some older bora wheels today, with some bf goodrich tyres.

im technologically retarded, so it will be a tiny bit before i get photos on here, but i got 15x6.5 inch bora wheels, these ones:

    http://carsales.com.au/Tig/UI/CSPhot...ortalID=240481

they look pretty good. 15 is rather small by modern standards, i'll admit, but im rather conservative when it comes to car aesthetics, and i think once i get my suspension done, the car will look nice, yet still very much stock, unimposing etc etc. and yes, the rubber feels very good on the road- just feels more comfy and safe, which is my number one priority.

and whubbs,so far, it's shaping up like this:
    -better rubber [done]
-2.5 inch dump pipe [before xmas]
    -sway bar [also before xmas]
    -seat intake [ditto]
-hr cup kit [before spring next season, but after the snow dumps, so probably around august]
-better smic [eurojet, perhaps? after next season]
-oettinger remap[when i have the balls].

    and i reckon thats it!

photos to come soon enough, lest i get ''pics or banned''.

you bet. somewhere down the line, i'm looking at getting em powdercoated matte black. i LOVE the inital D look.

have you driven much with the 15's on? i really liked the extra traction.

i put it to a superceded camry sportivo today. no illegal drag racing, but i abstained from moving forward along st.kilda road today, to let someone make a turn they had already half made, and i got beeped by the sportivo.

looked in my rearview mirror at the guy (me thinking "what the f**k, take it easy man". he swerved around me and went to overtake.... there was only a hundred meters for him to do so, but he couldnt.....

sounds like bull, but there is no doubt that it was on- the lane he swerved into, to overtake me, was a tram only lane, smack bang down the center of st.kilda rd.

that's my happyhappyjoyjoy story for the day. polo? that's gangsta

nooo get a Front mouint IC!!!!!
us dieseler's need all the cool air we can get!!! Its much more important for the diesel to have an effective IC as we run much higher boost levels...

get a good FMIC with a good heat exchange value and be done with it!
