If you feel the rears aren't doing enough, then try a different pad compound at the rear that has more friction - your brake supplier should be able to suggest one that has more friction relative to the front pads.

You only need to upgrade the rear setup if it is overheating which is very unlikely.

    Hoyhoy.

Wondering if anyone has played with the MK4 R32 calipers (twin piston) on a smaller than stock rotor (334mm).
    Say above 300mm.
ECS show that they have a kit for the 312mm rotor, but no template available from them.
Me think that their full of bull, because the R32 rotor is 32mm wide & the 312mm one from ECS is 25mm.
I read some where that the R32 caliper is smaller than the Porsche mono bloc.
Wilwood make a nice smaller 2 piece rotor that is 32mm wide.
    Anyone.

I dont think you can mount the Big Heavy R32 caliper on a 312mm rotor, i dont know why you would want to.
Where does ECS show they have a Kit to mount a R32 caliper to a 312mm rotor ??

Heres another interesting one that I just found, but I think it won't fit either.

Hmm strange, for that price I would think you got the whole R32 setup

It says " The components of this kit move your factory brake caliper away from the center of the wheel and allows you to run a larger brake rotor. Instead of the factory 288mm rotor, this kit allows you to bolt on a much larger 312mm unit".

Dosent specify in the parts if they are R32 calipers, it says about using R32 pads tho

    REALLY STRANGE LOL

Why dont you just try going to a 312mm rotor, even a 312mm 2 piece rotor, braided lines etc. Should be decent.
I only really went the Porsche Monoblocks for looks

    Hoyhoy.

Me old & fussy, still want to use the original wheels for the street, looks like it will be single potters.
I could go with the 6n Polo wheels , but then I would have to go lower profile tyres, when I just went higher with the original rims, this little girl is fairly stiff & now I'm putting in 60% heavier springs & thats after beefing up a couple of times already.
Me is full of excuses, hey.

I haven't forgotten wakefield in October Eddy. just trying to work out the uni schedule around that time and if I can justify a week off work for 1 day at the track... well it's actually quite easy to justify the later. Should have all my new mods on by end of month (fingers crossed)

    Thumbs up

    Hoyhoy.

So, can anyone tell me the difference between the calipers from the earlier TT's, MK4 GTI & the Polo GTI.
I'm having conflicting results from searching the webb.
Also finding a lot of bad verbals about ECS, anyone know better.
Just found an interesting crew that sound top class, anyone know better.
