Go Fast Bits For My 07 Polo GTI.

Hey guys. I just bought myself a brand new Polo GTI, and am looking at adding a few go fast bits too it. thus far I am only looking at the APR Intercooler and Blow Off Valve, but as I live in Darwin, I don't have an APR dealer up here.
I was wondering if anybody has fitted the same parts, or has added any APR gear to their own cars. I am very keen to know what you think.
My main worry is the new car warranty, but I am not looking at any ECU upgrades/modifications at this stage, so it may not be a huge drama.
I just joined this site after a recommendation from a mate, and any feedback would be awesome. I have a really great sleeper now, but I would like to get it up there a bit more.
    Cheers.

I suppose the IC up there would help out alot but I'd still go the APR (just sticking with the theme) chip first up. It won't void your warantly unless they can prove that it was that modifcation that caused you problems.

I have installed the APR R1 diverter valve - 15min job. It's childs play even for the most inexperienced.

The APR front mount I couldn't tell you what kind of job that would be but the polos IC works fine for standard. With out being chipped the IC might add extra lag that wouldn't be very desirable.

Talk to Eddy on here ... he's got pretty much the complete APR package on his Polo GTI (and it goes BEAUTIFULLY!!!).

    Hoyhoy.
The chip should be No1, best bang for buck, after that every little bang costs $$$.
P.S. The APR program is switchable back to standard & undetectable.
    Hooroo.

Thanks guys for the feed back. GUY_H, hurry up please!! Hehehehehe...The main things in order of want/need so far are: K&N Panel Filter(On order)
    SEAT Intake(Next pay).
    Number plates(BLOWNVW , VWPOWER
    or BLITZEN depending on availability)
    APR Diverter Valve.
    New head unit/screen.
    Intercooler.
    Exhaust(Haven't decided on a full
system or just the dump pipe and cat).
    ECU upgrade.

Now all I need is a few grand, and I'm set!!!

Hmmm ... have to say it ... I'd move the ECU upgrade up above number plates in the list above. I know ... it's a lot more bux initially ... but the benefits will be far more obvious than leaving it until last. Quite frankly ... without the chip done ... don't think you'll notice a heap of difference when you add:
    1. SEAT Intake,
    2. APR Diverter valve,
    3. Intercooler,
    4. Exhaust.

Let's just say ... they're the icing ... the chip is the cake.

My main issue in regards to the ECU upgrade is the warranty, but, apparently the APR upgrade can be hidden(not sure if it can be hidden from scan tools though...Any details??), but yeah, I may move it up the list...I am currently in NT on NSW rego, and need to change it...its only about $500 for rego for 12 months(or $250 for 6 months which you can do up here), and personalised plates with 7 letters are $146.
Dose the stock Intercooler cope well with the ECU upgrade? The primary thing stopping me getting the ECU done is that I live in Darwin, and we have no APR rep up here, and getting time from the army to drive down to Brisbane or Adelaide is easier said then done(I used all of my leave at xmas).

Yeah ... that does make it difficult (not having an APR agent up there). Standard intercooler works fine with chip and I've had warranty work performed on my car and mine has an "APR Tuned" badge on the back, Forge Strut Brace under the bonnet, Forge TIP (Turbo Inlet Pipe) under the bonnet and a Forge BOV in plain view as well.

Anyway ... however you do it ... I'm sure you'll love it.

Intercooler should work standard, but what is the point.

If you are going to run factory ECU, I would say focus on suspension upgrades.

Honestly, there is no point on getting intake / intercooler kit for it. As it will not benefit close to if it has been chipped.

The main thing about chip regardless of brand is that they are hidden, and when switched off, the dealer cannot dishonour your warranty. Just keep it to yourself.

If you want power without chip, downpipe is probably the bang for buck. But then, warranty will be definitely gone.

The answer is go for 6 hour trial (I know that there is access issue from your location), and you will be convinced for sure.

    06 Polo GTI - REVO Stage 2 = 140kw @ wheels.
06 Golf GTI - Bluefin Stage 1 blacked out with ED30 theme, leather, xenon, etc.
