Gloss B Pillar Install - Help!

    Hi All,

Recently got the Gloss B pillars from the Uk along with the Cuddy box. Figured that one out thanks to the magic search function on the forum, but am stumped when it comes to installing the gloss B pillar, so the following is probably directed at those who have installed them.

How did you get it installed (professionally or DIY) and, What's the easiest way to remove the old ones and install the new ones without destroying the window seals, or seriously stuffing them up when removing them (if i do it myself)?

    Thanks

    Simon

    That's an excellent question

I was looking at taking mine off to see how to do it, I couldn't find a way at all.

They are EASY to instal ... took me 10 minutes, no sweat.

    1. Lower window fully
    2. Pull out the rubber seal that runs vertically up the B pillar
    3. 2 Screws ... undo these (careful not to drop these down into your door interior workings)
    4. Gently lever out the B pillar cover (matt)
    5. Replace with glossy
    6. Do up screws again
    7. Reinsert the seal.

    Done

Can you post pics of yours Dave. I should have looked at the track day, if only I had known...

Pity you all have dodgy car colours I wanna see what it's like on a black one.

Also, you didn't say put the window up, you can be held accountable if someone steals something from my car

Not pulling it apart again for teaching purposes. But I will drop a pic or two in here when I've taken them and uploaded to Photobucket.

Mate I put these on mine and then took them off after a week and got the matte ones painted with the pearl effect - just goes better with the body work. If you want I can send you the gloss ones so you can try em out?

They were from vagparts.co.uk, so an arm , a leg, plus 2 fingers and a kidney for postage. Or in layman terms about AU$75 for the Pillars themselves. The Damage was done in postage, cos i went the fastest option without having to wait 6 months for it to arrive

It was the pulling the seals out that I wasn't too sure about. have you had any issues with the rubber seals after you put them back in?

I didn't want to go pulling them out and then not being able to put them back in again without causing an issue. I'll have another crack at it tomorrow when theres some more sunlight and less rain.

    Thanks

Ok this is weird. I first bought my Gloss B Pillars back mid 2006. I created a thread with pics but it's no where to be found? It doesn't come up under threads created by me and it doesn't come up while searching for it. I want answers Mods.

Here's the pics I posted back then...
