i dont c the point of bagging old motors to me it means proven reliablity and more parts

Thats exactly right. It just shows you how legendary this particular engine is. Its a pretty extraodinary engine to be honest. Although for higher outputs the internals need to be worked, I have seen figures as high as 450HP for the 1.8T in an Audi TT. And that is pretty phenominal to me.
