    Fuel pump?

What's the general consensus on changing a 135,000km original fuel pump?
Worthwhile investment in reliability, or better spent elsewhere?
If it's something that is best replaced, would a standard part suffice, or an aftermarket, say DW65V?

    TIA.

You don't need one. Change the fuel filter though. Be surprised if that's been done.

Certainly $ better spent elsewhere. As Gav said, replace the fuel filter though. I replaced mine at around 140k, was on the original filter until that point and was certainly due. Check out my thread for pics of the stuff that came out.

Thank you for the prompt response.

Where is somewhere else to put those funds towards?

What is your ultimate aim for the GTI. Start there and work backwards. Much less wasteful of time/energy/resources. Thats a do as I say, not as I do/did kind of statement.
