    fuel filter

    hey folks
    anyone know how often we should change the fuel filter?
    whats the part number from VW, what are alternatives to the VW part and how much do they go for
    are they easily accessible to replace (i havent looked for it yet )

    Very easy to change, but you need to be careful because fuel is very corrosive (ie. you need rubber gloves & eye protection) and of course, flammable.

    I used a bosch replacement that Jmac recommended and sold to me.

    is the fuse number the same as in the link?

    No idea, I didn't do the fuse trick, and instead had a small container handy to catch the small quantity of fuel that will drain out of the lines in the process. I then disposed of that fuel appropriately (ie. used it to make a fire and burn off some green waste in the backyard )
