I understand the TDI and all other 9n / 9n3 Polos take the same suspension and should take the same strut brace.
I would suggest looking at the recent UltraRacing group buy, the front strut brace I recently installed is a good bit of kit, reasonably priced (apparently you need to be aware of knock-offs on ebay).
The TDI has a vacuum pump thingy mounted on the driverside strut tower so GTi strut braces don't work without relocating the vacuum pump thingy.
Evaded M/S went in to this when the Ultra Racing strut brace was discussed with the Malaysian guys a year back (he decided he was going to cage the car so he ditched the strut brace idea).

VW - Metallic Paint, Radial Tyres, Laminated Windscreen, Electric Windows, VW Alloy Wheels, Variable Geometry Exhaust Driven Supercharger, Direct Unit Fuel Injection, Adiabatic Ignition, MacPherson Struts front, Torsion Beam rear, Coil Springs, Hydraulic Dampers, Front Anti-Roll Bar, Disc Brakes, Bosch ECU, ABS
I agree the suspension should be identical
but there is a vacuum distribution block on the driver side strut top of the TDI

Oh...
Are the connections all hard lines?
connections are soft, but don't have a good place to relocate the block
need to extend all the connections to relocate it as well, it's a lot of work
so anyone tried this bar? no one?

If you look at the UltraRacing group buy thread, on page 15 there are some photos of the installed product. I think you could probably mount the Vac system to the brace, or move the bracket up an inch or so to find clearance. Solution probably depends on how willing you are to modify whats there or do a little fabricating (or for me, using zip-ties).
I'm not saying this is the best solution, but the UR braces seem good, I don't think you get nearly as much bracing if you don't use many bolt points.
