For golfs and my pug, you just drill holes into the bumper and lip, then stick it on and cut the excess bits off the edges near the wheels. It's a bit of a hack job but works a treat.
Might be different for the Polo's but I doubt it.
So I received my front lip last week,
VW Polo 9N3 MK4 FL Bumper Cup Spoiler Lip Sport Valance (eBay item 130435805171 end time 26-Oct-10 07:54:01 AEDST) : Vehicle Parts Accessories
but i have absolutely nfi how to fit it
looking at the front bar, the grey strip underneath im assuming has to be taken off, but how?
can anyone help?
also, i received my h&r springs todayalthough after some tips from others who have had them installed, are there any surprises i should be prepared for? ive changed springs in a vx commodore, and an astra h (2007), so i would assume the concept is the same, but just wanna be sure that im not gunna run into any issues!
cheers![]()

Just drill pilot holes once you have centered it and bent it to the form you want, the screw it on. Trip down the ends once fitted. I will say that I trimmed down the 2 center posts on the spoiler till they were flush with the tabs in the center of the posts.
Springs are easy to fit. Both rear springs shouldn't take more than 20 minutes to fit, but on the front I pulled the drive shafts off the hub and disconnected the ball joints from the lower suspension so I had more room to pull the struts out. Doing the springs on the polo was the first time I had attempted to lower a car, and all up it took me about 4 hours. Mind you, I had access to a full workshop, and a 2 post hoist....

I probably won't go as far as pulling the drive shafts out for the strutsand I'll have a bit of help so shouldn't take too long!

The front end can be a PITA, there's a thread on here (would need to search) which has a "how to" guide. There's a specific tool that would have made life a lot easier, I started without the tool thinking it can't be that hard, but gave up. The tool is like a beefed up circlip plyer to remove the strut from wheel/hub assembly. Drivers side is generally more difficult from my experience and feedback, so perhaps start with that one.
I have all the spring collapsing tools needed to change struts and the front lip is easy as well come on over and I will help you.
Cheers ssman
