Im sure i could write some up from memory but i think i used the instructions from the mk4 forum for my first go. And samco make a half hose but when i was researching them it wasn't a good alternative.

APR used to sell an alternative (probably still do) but its not price competitive and I actually bought my Forge TIP from them....

Sorry to disagree sharkie but i have done 5 (i think) and have always done them from the top.

ill sit done and write up something basic, but a handy tip that was given to me was when fitting the hose onto the turbo use a little bit of soapy water (very little soap needed) this way itll eveaporate before you finish the job. and its a tight squeeze.

My first one took me 7hrs when i was really sick, buy the end i think i had them down to 90min all going to plan. eddy or dave might remember.

As for the connector i have only ever got the ones that are ment for the Polo/Ibiza in which are a direct fit.

I'd imagine you'd get better at it Shane...

But this is his 1st one and might take him a bit of time. For me it was initially too difficult to do all from the top and had to do a bit from the bottom. Even Jmac had issues and had to do some from the bottom on my 2nd fitting.

Its not easy.... BUT like with all things with practice you'd obviously get better at it.

Yeah i agree you do get better with practice, but i dont see the advantage of doing it from underneath. As you said its blind anyway and with good daylight from the top at least you can see where its got to go. Anyway what ever works i guess.
