forge front mount intercoolers for the polo

I had a look on ebay , there is a guy in england who is selling the forge kit for :

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/FORGE-FRONT-M...n%3D1%26ps%3D6

    $1001.00 AUD

    $88 GBP Postage

he advised it would take 4 - 6 weeks as they would be built once the order is in and paid for.

Maybe have a chat to GTI_Dave as he imports Forge bits and provides local sale support.
See what he can do for you.

    not for myself

i posted this up because i always see posts about people wanting front mounts on the cheap. I made my own , using a generic same same in/out intercooler , piping kit and some tig welding . Done - $220.00 haven't had any problems yet

As the price is over $1000AUD, an import Tax applies.

Direct from Forge would be about the same.

Any info on your custom intercooler work? Always interested to see what people have done.

I believe you also have to pay GST on either the item or the import tax or possibly both.

    intercooler

    I just bought a

    Cooling pro intercooler

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/BAR-PLATE-280...item53dd7b59f5

welded some tabs , - basically the same as the forge kit , the way you mount the sensor is you weld a block to the pipe - just drill the block through to the pipe ( just back sure the space is the same as the original.

If anyone one has a forge intercooler that they are willing to pull apart and trace all the parts on paper ( actual size ) you can buy a piping kit , kit the bends accordingly and away you go.

Just an update for you i also deal with with Forge, and took a great deal of effort to gain some level ground as they have had some bad dealing in Aus. I had a long chat and all seems well. Just for your info
