Can only agree Dave . It was a night mare last time.
No it won't be cheaper to send it all in bulk to a single address and then redistribution because that's going to involve twice the cost of shipping as these boxes are too big for Australia post so courier is going to cost an arm and a leg not to mention the extra cost of import duties if they were shipped in all at once. Cheapest is for Forge to ship them individually to each of you guys that way, you save on redistribution costs and import duties. Believe me, I'd be pretty surprised for someone to stick their hand up to organise such a logistical nightmare not to mention chasing up everyone for payment and being the one responsible for it all if anything bad happens (Been there and done that and believe me I've learnt it the hard way. It ain't easy especially for such bulky items but easy enough for small items that Australia post can send). For those who may think it is, then they've either been doing it as part of their day job and can get cheap courier rates or they have never done such a thing before in their life. In my opinion, its best to give Forge a list of those interested and ask Forge to accept payments individually and ship direct to the buyer.
Whichever way this heads, I wish the person the very best of luck for who ever sticks their hand up for this. Organising group buys for smaller items such as air filters, stubby antennas, engine mounts etc etc etc is the easiest in terms of logistics and costs.
Hope this helps guys. I just don't want to see anyone losing sleep over these kind of problems as I have.
Cheers.

Hmmm, not as much interest in the Forge IC's as I'd expected... Still short of the minimum for the group buy.
If you want one and have not expressed interest, please let me know before Thursday.
Its a lot to spend on just a front mount intercooler upgrade, my budget for a fmic is set to $600, picking up my gti this weekend.![]()
To be honest, I would not bother with the intercooler at all for that much.
If you read the other FMIC threads, all tested options are around $900 or over.
For that money, your best bet is to find a shop that will take cash, strap on a 2nd hand stock cooler and fit it for you (unless you are a welder and fitter).
If you really can't spend more than that, I'd be getting some intake mods to help it breathe better.
If its stock, FMIC isn't really the place to start anyway, you'll likely get the bug later and want one![]()
im probably going to get banned for this but it will be worth it. I dont know why you guys WONT LISTEN TO WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING we have all proven the worth of a FMIC especially during the heat of summer and to say its not worth the 1100 for the forge unit is friggin ridiculous.
Whats the point of paying anywhere between 1 and 2k for a chip if during the heat of summer you return to near bog stock power due to heat soak (once again tested and proven on a dyno day)
For crying out loud if I had my time again I would be on that buy straight away 1100 for a FMIC of any type is decent price let alone for a Euro car. So how about you guys keep this to pm until you all realise the benefits of a FMIC
Also all this fussing about with organising couriers etc would be avoided if you just dealt with the people on here who are actually deal with Forge on a regular basis and know what they are doing.
congrats on getting the GTI, but good luck getting a FMIC kit for that price. even a guy who had a fabricator friend and bought the cheapest core anyone has found paid close to 900 dollars for his kit.
forge kit atm is the best option and is an absolute steal at 1100 DELIVERED from the UK.
These intercooler kits are technically the cheapest, but they are out of stock at the moment.
Once they come in stock I have one reserved.
Edit: Interestingly, they are different to all the other kits in the sense they don't have both the inlet and outlet on the same side.
