Do you mean unfinished in respect to the fog lights having the plastic inserts and it not continuing across the front of the car where the intercooler is?

I might try and find those honeycomb grill for the lower and have that fitted..

Many cars out there dont have anything in the lower grill area.

I would imagine on a white car or even silver it would be more noticeable..

I might leave it off but find some rubber insert I can sick there to make it look more complete..

Its very noticable without grill on..

I think I have to take bar off to put grill back on anyway...
I've been pondering the same question as you, if I were you this is what I'd do.

Remove the grill, and create whats essentially a large rectangular pipe/port out of fiberglass to put in its place. Paint it perhaps 25%gloss/75%matte.

A lot of work would be involved getting it just right (designing, molding, sanding, filling, painting and finishing the fiberglass), but the car would look really finished with a nice port style scoop leading up to your intercooler.

Hmmm.. for me its gonna be either grill in or grill out..

No funny shaped trapezoidal fibreglass apparatus..

Im just interested in the straight shooting VW members that say rice or nice..

I appreciate the negative comments as much as the positive..

thats my white gti with no grill, it looks sweet in real life and you cannot see the grill clips as i have modified the orginal grill . cut out the slats and fiberglassed the sides filled and painted , then it just slotts in giving a nice finish! also you could put mesh behined if you wanted !

Petrina I think if you do something similar to what Chrisuk has done it will finish the job off nicely. if you just leave it with nothing there then it will look ok but it won't look "nice" (alternativly you could just replace the grill or source a honeycomb grill).
    Cheers,

    John

Can you replace the grill from the outside??

I dont want to have to take the bar off...again..

they are not like holdens or fords where you give em a bit of a shake and they come off..

    Dave
was just gonna comment on that - most peoples definitions of RICE are all washed up and pure conjecture - especially on wiki - Dave has the origin of the term 100% correct even though as time went on it became a derogatory term against japanese manufactured vehicles because of the penchant of Japanese people in their fondness for eating rice

but there you have it though RICE in car terminology = Race Inspired Car Enhancements
