Find radio code

The code for my OG radio is nowhere to be found. How do find out what it is without paying a fortune?
I have the radio serial number and VIN.

Your Eurovox 4680, right?
Those old units don't even have EEPROM, just a combination of diodes.

This is what my eurovox 8790 insides look like, you just need to remove the board and the pin goes back to 1111

When putting the stock unit back in, I found installing the unit and starting the car unlocked the code automatically, just turning it on via ignition auxiliary presented the code prompt.
