    Exhaust System for FrankenTurbo F21T/K04/BT

    Hi Guys,

It's been awhile I haven't been active in here. I would like to seek your advice in regards to compliment or prerequisites mods for FrankenTurbo F21T (or K04/BT) i.e. exhaust. While waiting for the package to arrive, I've actually opted for custom exhaust works:
    1. Custom 2.5" Catless Downpipe (added spacer on the secondary O2 sensor to eliminate CEL). [Had it for about 2 years and works wonderfully]
    2. Custom 2.5" stainless steel piping [Just added yesterday]
    3. Blitz Spec Nur universal muffler [Just added yesterday]

Having fitted the item 2 & 3 yesterday, I feel the boost comes it pretty late and inconsistent. My mechanic is sourcing exhaust silencer to provide a little bit back pressure to overcome this problem. Currently my engine mods consist of Unitronic Stg1+, K&N open pod filter, custom Evo3 (500mm X 315mm X 90mm) intercooler, 4 bar FPR, DV relocated and ECS Stg1 clucth kit. More information can be found in my blog: Pocong GTI

So my question is will my new exhaust setup works with F21T kit (or K04/BT), Genesis 415cc injectors and Unitronic Stg2+ remap? Should I change the muffler to have more back pressure? Appreciate your help on this. Thanks

    NIce looking system.

I wouldn't bother with a different silencer until you have finished installing the Frantenturbo.

When I had my 3 inch Dp and 2.5 system made for my Polo, the boost on the standard software was awful, the needle was swinging all over the place. It was similar but not quite so bad for the AMD one click stage 1 and the Custom-Code Phase1.

With the Custom-Code Phase 2 it fixed the problem, strong consistent boost.

With the removed restriction in the exhaust system, the turbo will be much more responsive and the tune isn't written to cope with that.

I'd leave it as is for the time being unless it's going to be months before you fit the FT.

    Hi Gavin,

Thank you for your input and I must say your car mods among the most extensive and raddest in here. Looking forward for more new updates in your thread

I think you're right, it would be best for me to install FrankenTurbo F21T and remap it using Unitronic Stg2+ before doing anything further. It might just be the existing K03S already exhausted causing some boost leaks.
