Do Milltek do a less expensive non-stainless steel version?
I have heard you can get many years out of a mild steel version as long as your car does lots of km's....

Not that I am aware off. I don't think you would want it in anything less than stainless steel anyway would you?

According to their website it comes in as a DP/High flow sport cat; resonated & non-resonated cat-back system; and the middle/centre pipe. Obviously a full system you get all parts. But yeah I think its only available in aircraft grade SS which is one of its selling points.

Mozz yeah but ya pay for stainless steel and yes certainly rust resistant a major benefit. It would be nice to have miild steel option. Doing heaps of km's water sitting in exhaust rusting it is not a major isssue for me.

True but I don't think you really get a choice in most exhausts unless someone is doing a custom job for you. I don't think the APR is done in anything less than SS either but I guess it would be good if someone did give you the option. Like you say it could be cheaper.

How much are you being charged for freight on these exhausts? Awesome in the UK ( http://www.awesome-gti.co.uk/ ) are charging GBP603.19 which is AU$1346.82 for a complete system at RRP. I think you need to find a new shipping method cause going off these prices you're getting charged $1000 for freight which seems a little excessive especially when you're looking at a group buy.
    Cheers,

    John

Markup, considering it's not just a group buy, it's his business.

Don't forgot that when you bring in goods in excess of $1000 you have to factor in the 5% import duty on the value and then add another 10% GST on top of the full price including postage so that would be approx another $200+ and I think there is a $50 customs inspection fee as well. Also freight from the UK on such a large item would be at least $200AUS as well. Add your local markup and you are then left with a price pretty comparable to what GT3 has quoted. It all adds ups thats for sure. Plus don't forgot about warranty too. Anything bought overseas you can pretty much kiss your warranty goodbye.
But having said all that I do agree that generally what we pay here in Oz is way way more expensive than what you pay overseas. And that goes for most things unfortunately. Its just the way it is.

I don't know what arrangement Awesome has with Milltek bc they're selling those systems below RRP, they might have a bulk-buy deal, it's hard to say without knowing the facts. One thing you need to be aware of is bringing Millteks into Australia isn't simply paying freight and that's it. It includes the cost of freight (not cheap), duties payable (on purchases over 1k), then GST is applied to both. This is why individual systems aren't cheap.
