Errr... does recaro make polo gti seats? lol

Thinking back when I first looked at the Polo GTI - I was told by the salesman that the front seats were made by Recaro... is there any truth in that?

lol I kinda doubt it, but just curious...

I call BS on the salesguy part. They are great seats, but not Recaro's.

I believe that Recaro do make the seats for VW, it's only the sports optiton ones that actually have Recaro badges on them.

I reckon if you were to pull one to bits you would find it written on something in there. I have seen stickers myself when pulling VW seats apart.

h100vw may be right - considering Recaro also made seats for the mk4 Golf GTI if I'm not mistaken...

While "Recaro" is a brand, it is also a major manufacturer of seats -- for airlines (including cattle class -- and the branding is not all that evident) -- so I wouldn't be surprised if Recaro is the OEM, but chooses not to have it acknowledged as a brand to maintain the cachet of their higher value seats
