It varies from engine to engine in severity, but yes. The LS1 V8 in the VTII-VZ Commodore's copped it really bad with the big plastic engine cover.

Sounds a bit louder I'll give it a good go on a warm day.

my engine cover has been off for about nine months . ever since i put the BOV on it hasn't fit on properly so i just left it off. it's probably a good thing as the engine gets a lot more air flow now.

Mate, whether you want that engine cover on or off is YOUR decision not theirs...I reckon its rubbish. You paid for that cover so where is it? It definately makes the engine more pleasing to the eyes...especially if you ever come to selling the car. You should ph VW complaints and explain whats happened. 100% the dealers done something dodgy...how strange.

    Thankyou for your enquiry.

Our dealership network is provided with the most updated information from Volkswagen Group Australia and I am sure that they have provided you with the correct information.

Nonetheless I will contact the Sales Manager to further investigate this for you and have him return your call with further clarifications.

it could be human error and accidentally left off when they did a pre-sales service/engine check.

    Here is what prob happened.

They took it off to do the pre-delivery checks and moved the car while it was off and reversed over it.
