Hi there, just wondering if these Golf MKIV rear brake upgrades will fit the Polo GTI? And will the hand brake be compatable?

Have you upgraded the front brakes or are you going to do this as well. Can't imagine that doing this to just the rears is going to end well at all.
Have a read through the white papers and FAQs by StopTech brakes. They have some interesting things to say about upgrading rear brakes and whether it is even necessary in any situation.

That was really interesting reading Trent and wonder why some members here upgrade the rears as ive been told the same thing about screwing up the brake bias
but i am interested to know what their argumaent is as to why they did it?

Don't bother upgrading rear brakes even if you go a big brake upgrade on the front. Also don't bother cross drilling your rotors. Just slot them. Warped rotors are normally misdiagnosed and the shudder is normally caused by uneven layering of brake pad compound on the rotor.
There's quite a few other good articles on that site. I know some people on here don't agree with them or the information in them but yeah, it's all quite well written. If you're not looking at brake upgrades it's probably not necessary to read the site, but yeah, lots of good information in my opinion.

But the problem is there if that then stuffs up the bias and the performance of the brakes then the car ain't going to look too good when it swaps ends under heavy braking and ends up in an accident. You can only take aesthetics so far. Performance should always come first and then looks.
Hence my extreme dislike for dumped cars, airbag suspension, big ass rims and stretched tyres. Funnily enough I think that these things ruin the looks of most vehicles anyway.

It's all good to offer your opinion about weather or not he should do the upgrade but what about the actual question "Do MKIV rears fit on a Polo"?
Sofar only 1 person has attempted to answer this. I'm very interested in the answer as I'm looking at a rear brake U/G also but not sure if it will fit.
Sorry if I sound a little narkey but we all know how it feels to have a thread go off track (especially when you're really interested in the answer).
