Not sure that a uprated Clutch is going to help the grinding gearbox.

If anything it is just going to push more strain in its direction

It doesn't grind all the time just on a few occasions when I give it to the Pog.

I just thought that it could be the clutch that could be the cause of the gears grinding by not fully engaging / disenaging properly at high/er revs.

POGs love to grind there gears. The best thing I can recommend is the following:

    1. Put the handbrake on and your foot on the brake.
    2. Without using the clutch, slightly push the gearknob into the gear that often grinds. You will notice that the engine RPMs drop. Hold it here for say 5-15 seconds.
    3. Repeat step 2 a few times, as needed.

It sounds completely ****ed up I know - there is some other dude here that explained the whole thing, and honestly, my gearbox which was a grindasorous after a factory rebuild barely ever grinds anymore.

Have you modded your car etc?

I'm in the ACT till the end of next week if you wanna check out a APR'd polo with a FMIC.

    Cheers,

Yep, chipped it when I clicked it at 900km. Trauling through these forum didn't help resist the temptation. Got the RSW, dog mount and rear control arm bushes the other week. Now just saving for the Bilstein B14, FMIC and down pipe and then stage 2 reflash.

Uprated clutch wont help if you are grinding gears. Clearance of the ECS clutch is pretty much OEM so the same clearance same grinding. I suggest changing your gear oil to an oil with more friction, Redline MTL goes very well in the 02R Polo Gearbox, after around 200-300 clicks it should feel heaps better.

I'll endorse Jmac's advice. MTL cured the grinding in mine. Grinding started at 2k, Redline in at 4k, no further problem now at 9k.

I don't have crunching, but the changes can be slower than I would like.
Does the Redline help with the changes over all?
