Cheers mate, thanks for the info. It's always useful to get the little bits of information (ie which bearings to keep) which you don't find out any other way.
Had a few enquires of late about ECS clutches for the MK4 Golf to fit the Pog. Just done one and is a good thing. Only thing is i recommend fitting an original Release bearing though. Clutch pedal has a really good feel, bit heavier of course and travel/take up good.
Only thing was the exchange rate and because it was ordered during the break it took a while to get here. Usually it will take between 10- 14 days. Good guys to deal with too, ill shop there again.

Has anyone. Who knows what they are talking about.. Found what clutch fits a polo from other cars? IE. What golf. Etc. Ive seen alot of stuff on here which crosses what others have said. Gets annoying.
This clutch kit is the one Jimmy is talking about.

I'm going to be getting it soon...And that clutch aligning tool will look good in my tool box!!(Yes, I know, the small things...)

The kit to fit includes a VR6 clutch plate, cover and release bearing along with a flywheel from a 4 cylinder engine which runs a cable change box. Commonly from the G60 or ABF 16V but even the 2 litre common or garden Passat has the same one.
FYI I am doing some investigation into getting a similar kit from an Australian company in Adelaide. The sell the Extreme Clutches you see round about.
Hopefully details by the end of the week.
Gavin
This kit is the 228mm Vr plate which is OEM Sachs, and like Gav says an ABF flywheel is the shot. The ECS one is theirs and is lightened, and a heavier cover. Bearing in the kit sits flush to subflush and the OEM one sits proud, travel is everything from experience. Hey Gav good luck with that man as the exchange rate is crap, and would be great to have that set up overnight if the need ever arises.
Cheers

hey jmac, I'm just about to order that very thing, so better feel than the OEM clutch? Now that mine may be on the way out I have lost all confidence to drive with "sprite" shall we say....how many km's would you hope to get out of the new clutch on a "chipped" polo gti I assume?
tnx
So what are the pro's and con's of having a lightened flywheel?
Hey there Chipped, yeah you should order a new release from Dub. I wouldnt use your old one if your clutch is done the bearing will be well and truly ready to be changed. It will cost you around $65 for that.
Cheers
