Welcome Mitch,
Good to have you onboard hopefully you and your car will benefit from this site, as alot of us have.
Sounds about right anyone else?
Hi there everyone. im new to watercooled.
I own a candy white Pog GTI with leather and tint.
My brother owns a nissan s14a 200sx with very light mods and my GTI is stock apart from bmc panel filter and new forge diverter valve.
We were curious about power outputs so we got our cars put onto the dyno. His nissan pushed out a healthy 200hp atw and my car pushed out 125hp atw.
Is 125 on the mark for a standard 1.8t??????????

I'm soo euro even my missus is shaved...
Hi Mitch, glad to see you have wandered over here.
With the standard proviso that all dynos are different that seems within the ballpark
Hey Mitch - 125hp = 93kw at the wheels - exactly the same as we got on our standard Polo - sounds spot on
15% power loss not bad.
Interestingly my bog standard Seat Ibiza 2.0 16V (Factory rated at 110kW) ran 91.6kW on a dyno last week.
2001 Bora 4 Motion Sport now used by number two son
2011 Skoda Octavia Scout now with Underground Performance tune
2010 Jetta 125 tdi dsg for the misses - Impressed
2006 Polo GTI - Enhanced by some of Gav's magic - Absolutely loving it
Well the 1.8t seems to be a fairly consistent motor then.
I used to spend quite alot of time on fordforums and the falcon boys/girls get very inconsistent power outputs on their standard cars whether it be the NA 6 cyl, 6T or 8's. They fluctuate by as much as 20 kw.
Apparently the 1.8t is held in very high regard around the world, especially in america
