Put your stock intercooler back on - if you have lost ~ 4 psi of boost (as many other have) then on a stock car (no upped boost with software) then you are lucky to get those gains!
I can't imagine why you'd spend all that money on those mods, instead of doing the remap first *shrugs* It's a backwards way of modding a Polo to me.
Yes, and no. It does actually slightly sap power due to pressure loss, it also will add lag. It's a matter of if the temperature reduction can allieviate the negative effects, and for the quality intercoolers I'd imagine they would be close to neutral benefit to power. But yes consistency of power, particularly on a hot day, is the big draw card for most people.

Ohhhh.
Yes think its time for a GIAC, CC, APR or Revo tune mate.
Sounds to me that you are the one with the backwards modding idea mate
first hardware, after that, software,
specially when you are going to get a custom remap.
ps: IC is allways better on a turbocharged engine.
you might get a bit turbolag on a stock engine if the IC is a bit to large, otherwise you will not notice it at all.
but it's still worth putting it even if you have a bit more lag.
heatsoak will be elliminated, and thats a factor where Polo GTI's have real problems with.
still it's everyone on it's own, it's a personal choise..
i've heard that revo's are preset, and that others work off your stock map, tweaking the different parameters.
i thought that if you wanted a custom tune, it would have to actually be custom, as in someone comes around to your place and does a rolling road tune, or you take it to someone like evolve technik and get dyno tuned?
as far as i can gather, anything whereby you get maps, however powerful they are, without the mapping process taking place whilst the wheels are rolling, is classified as an ''off the shelf'' tune?
thats exactly where im getting my phase 2 tune done, by the evolve technik guys. Which required them install the forge kit + b.o.v and exhaust. Did a dyno run once all the mods were fitted, and sent the results to Germany to develop a custom tune for the mods. Got a response over night with 3 different tunes. Now going in tomorrow to do some tests and runs and download the software that is best suited.
If it's a custom remap, sure... but how many of us actually run custom remaps? Isn't CustomCode the only brand that allows any significant adjustability?
I know most people here are running the standard APR/GIAC/REVO setup, which doesn't receive any benefit from doing it pre or post mods.

REVO comes in as off-the shelf item, then you can do rolling dyno - to change 1) fueling 2) timing 3) and boost. Setting start from 0(stock) to 9 (maximal performance either, race fuel, advanced timing, or higher boost). So reasonable tweaking can be done. i am on Boost 8, Timing 7, and Fueling 8. Fueling can be also adapted by the ECU itself.
06 Polo GTI - REVO Stage 2 = 140kw @ wheels.
06 Golf GTI - Bluefin Stage 1 blacked out with ED30 theme, leather, xenon, etc.
