How much travel have you got?
The valving will get damaged badly if the suspension is near the bumpstops. And stress on the strut towers.

Im not sure. The stress on the strut towers....Can that be reduced if I raise it? or can I do other things to help reduce it.

    Cheers,

    Matty

Oh planning on getting weitec too later on year for targa west, Does anyone know the travel on them?

    Matty,
Over the past few decades I have seen a lot of bent shocker shafts from bottoming out suspension whem hitting bumps hard whilst lowered. Thats why I asked how much travel you had left in your shockers. ie. how far can you push down on the font of your car until you get mechanical resistance. Dont push on the tops of the guards though!! I had a few friends that bragged about their new bilsteins and ended up with dents along the top of the front guards where they pushed the cars down (or tried!!) to demonstrate how hard they were.
The shockers also have their valving at the bottom of their shfts which, when they bottom out get hammered and pack up very quickly. When suspension bottoms out it doesnt make for great handling and the ride is rubbish!
Mk1 golf strut towers had a real problem with seperating from the inner guards when this happened. The first one to put a complete front strut tower up into the bonnet happened down here in Tas during a rally and VW recalled some to get them welded up a lot better.
I daresay the towers are a lot stronger in the Polo mate.
Looks good but make sure it has at least 40 m/m of travel. At least!!
Just a little guidance friend, looks arent everything,
    Andrew
