    Door locking problem

    Hey guys,

Whenever I unlock my car with the key remote and open the passenger door the car will autolock itself after a certain time and set off the alarm. Also when I try and lock the doors from the drivers door switch the passenger lock goes down then automatically pops up. BUT... when i use the key remote to lock the door it works fine.

I have booked my car in to get looked at but thought i would see if any other people have experienced the same problem.

Mine does this too. I have to hit my lock button up to 3 times to make sure my passenger door locks as it pops back up after I lock it initially.

Oo this must be a problem with our cars. Mine was the same. My key battery also died and had a few creaks here and there, rear wiper jet didn't work, brakes were squealing so I took it to get checked. They said there was a faulty mechanism in the left door that was short circuiting and would auto unlock. Works now but cost me 250 to change. Was really tripping me out how u couldn't use the button.. Especially when the key died and had to manually lock the car.

Also I think our car is supposed to auto lock. Only If u start the ignition is when I have noticed it won't lock automatically. Very annoying really as in the garage, the closing of the golf tdi's doors set off the polos alarm haha

Sorry about double post. I'm in tapatalk. Just remembered that when you press the lock button on keys if u press twice it unlocks the passengers side but keeps the alarm on? Yeh seems a bit stuffed up.. Maybe that was my faulty mechanism

Was your car still under warranty when you got the faulty door mechanism fixed? I am still just under warranty (3 weeks before the end of my 3 years) and am hoping this problem will be fixed without me paying a cent.

Exact same problem here - also when the car auto locks itself after going over 15kph the passenger side door would lock then unlock itself with the driver's side remaining locked.

I turned the auto lock off with Vagcom though so it doesn't do it anymore, but it's still an underlying problem.
