Umm ... Guy ?
Which is quicker from 80 - 120 km/h ? The Cayman S or the Polo ?
..... Just to stir .....
I thought Michael Taylor's Motor article was pretty good... It pretty much stated that chasing the magic 0-100km/h was pointless..... Torque is the king and in the real world on the road you will use the 330+NM on a chipped Polo much more than anything else.... And it is here where the giant killing abilities of the Polo really comes in to the equation.
Don't get me wrong, I love launching hard from standstill and will pretty much try out anything looking capable of being challenging and worthy to beat.....
Guy .... arrange for a testing session and I will be there .....

Sounds like we all need to get together on a non rainy weekend & do some testing!
I even have my old G-tech meter here too so its possible to strap three different measuring devices into one car![]()
I'd be up for that too

Good Question Rhys - 0-100 testing is pretty easy legally on the freeway. We need to do it quietly ie: dont have ten polo's sitting in the breakdown zone on the freeway.
Proposal: (Only need 3 cars - our K04, a chipped one & a stock one!) - base it out of our place (we are only a couple of blocks from the freeway) - same driver, same co pilot & we can do 4 x 0-100 standing starts and then come back & download the data.
Repeat this for the other two cars.
A weekend is probably easier to get all the cars together - we can also do it on a weekday. Need to do them all on the same day to get equal numbers!
And we don't break any laws - most importantly!
Guy's proposal seems a simple and effective way to achieve the 0-100 times. I'd also suggest that four cars would be needed (instead of three), ie (1)stock, (2) chipped, (3) chipped with mods (eg FMIC, exhaust) and then (4) K04 (tend to have similar mods as 3). Also need to nominate a single/same driver to control for driver variation between cars.
Oh alright then ... I'll do it (sigh).
