ESP is totally disabled once you press the button and the icon displays on the dash.Traction control and ESP are turned off as one.
We run Track days this way,and trust me,it's OFF...
Is there anyway of totally disabling the ESP? Did a search but nothing came up... just wondering if there was a way to achieve this?
You can turn off the traction control, but the computer still cuts in and stops anything it doesn't like, no combination of buttons, pulling of fuses seems to work.

The car still corrects oversteer... this is the ESP right? It always corrects it, no matter if tc is on or off.
Well i'm mighty confused. It definitely steps in, u feel it pulse the individual brakes
Maybe thats electronic brake force distribution. I notice that it does this, but I don't think thats part of the stability control, i think its part of ABS which generally doesn't need to be disabled.
Shouldn't EBD only come into play when ABS kicks in, so that instead of all brakes getting ABS'ed to nothing, only the one which is about to lock up will, for example is one wheel is on the grass, it will only reduce braking force to that wheel instead of all of them.
The traction control will stop the front wheels from spining by limiting engine power... which is part of the ESP, but the other part of the ESP is appling brakes to certain wheels to countact any slides. With ESP on you can't really get over or understeer... with ESP off, you can get understeer, but still no oversteer.
Maybe i'm totally wrong about the whole situation, if anyone can shed some light.
The pulsing you feel is the ABS, which can't be switched off...nor, I suspect, is the EBD. ABS, by stopping any wheel from locking up, will give a degree of oversteer correction
The pulsing of the brake is ABS, ESP off will not apply EBD. Listen to Maccaa, we track these cars and turn ESP off all the time.
This is FWD car you're going to get understeer, that's what ESP will try and stop so you don't run wide and end up going over a cliff. Again this is a FWD car, it's not built for oversteer, if you want side ways action use your handbrake or buy a RWD.
Whilst I've had ESP save my ass a few times in the twisties, the ONLY place you should be turning ESP off is on the race track, skid pan & Drags and any other motorsport where it is safe to do so. Also once you know what your car can do and how to drive it well, ie. not the 2nd day of ownership.
