    Here's an interesting article on stainless steel braided hoses FWIW. I think firewall flex is a bigger issue for the Pog -- there's certainly something not too solid around the master cylinder, which lessens confidence on the stop peddle (for me) than for other cars I've driven

    I also don't think I experienced "fade" as such, even with the stock pads/fluid; just the feel/bite of the brakes didn't fill me with confidence; subsequently, with Ferodo 2500 pads and race fluid it is much better. No fade, even on the stock sized rotors/pads (but then I haven't run a Bathurst yet )

    Well the way that I look at it; A lot of performance cars come with slotted (HSV's /FPV's) and Any AMG has cross drilled.

    If this made pad life unbearable I'm sure the Mercedes customers would crack a massive fit.

    Drilled and slotted are different things. Know of a manufacturer who slots their rotors?

    Ford fpv have drilled and slotted brakes. HSV GTS is slotted only.

    Hmmmmm - so they do with their optional Brembos.

    All I know is what I've read in plenty of places and from what experienced people have told me - slotted rotors and drilled rotors are completely unnecessary for a road car - dedicated track car may be a different matter.

    The urge to get them is a powerful urge - no doubt about that - track cars have them, they look tough and shout out 'I'm A Serious Driver' and are realtively affordable - the temptation is to think that you'll have greatly improved braking for little cost.

    Ok talking to a few places in hobart, to ppl that really know there daily driver track cars and they say that the slotted ae worth it.
    I dont think u can say its not worth it or it is all depends on individual needs and uses.
    Using a pad such as a DS2500 ur going to wear a rotor faster than a pad almost anyway from what i have seen on diferent cars.
    So i am going with them one day down the track because you never know what my plans for the car is . I do live in a state with a big rally called Targa might one day get there.

    DS2500 for the pad, stay away from EBC...
    DBA for rotors too they handle track days quite well. Also get the same compound brake pad for both front and back, don't go cheap on the rears just cause they don't do as much work. Getting the same pads all round make the car more stable under hard braking.
    Also get AP Racing 6000 brake fluid and the braided lines

    whats wrong with ebc?????? i have driven a car with them and they are great. i believe a few polo owners have them.

    I have heard EBC are really bad untill u get lots of heat into them.
    OK so using Martini over AP due to the higher boiling point.
    Braided lines
