    The dash part hunt

    Hey Guys,

I'm hunting down a part I cannot find anywhere. It's the very front dash part which was cracked when I bought it and I assume just from sitting in the sun over time and the heat has just gotten the best of it. I have attached a picture of the piece that needs replacing. The cracks don't continue onto the main dash piece, it's only that very front black strip that has the demister vents.

Can anyone recommend where I could find one of these and how much I'm looking at for one?

    Thanks!!

Others have had this problem .... can remember posts about it. I think from memory you needed to remove the entire dash to replace it. I can remember a few running dash mats to cover it up and avoid the problems of replacing.

I'll have a look on ETKA later but I reckon out of sight out of mind will be a winner.

Really? Seems like a waste to have to replace the whole dash because of one very small chunk of it. If that's the case I'll just cover it with a dash matt like others have suggested but thought you could replace just the front piece being that it seems to be a seperate piece or is it not?

Moral of the story of modern vehicle ownership mate. That little rubber gasket at the base of the antenna, can't be ordered from vw by itself, you have to buy th whole antenna assembly. Father in law's landcruiser just lunched its rear door latch. Simple piece to replace but you need to buy the whole handle, latch, number plate holder and lights assembly.

That part is a part of the dash, its permanently connected to the rest of the dash (had it 90% out before besides not having the steering wheel socket to get it fully out).
